Nicole’s Journey

Nicole, a Berlin, New Jersey native, embodies the resilience and warmth characteristic of her tight-knit community. Growing up amidst the tranquil landscapes of Berlin, she cultivated a deep appreciation for nature and a profound love for animals.

In March 2016, Nicole’s life took an unexpected turn when she received the diagnosis of Metastatic Breast Cancer. Faced with this daunting challenge, Nicole approached each day with unwavering courage and a determination to live life fully, drawing strength from her role as a devoted mother to her two teenage boys, aged 16 and 14.

Despite the hurdles posed by her illness, Nicole’s spirit remained unbroken. In January 2020, she made a bold decision to pursue her lifelong passion for caring for animals, leaving behind her previous career to dedicate herself to her second love: dogs.

Supported wholeheartedly by her husband Michael, Nicole embarked on a new chapter in her life journey. Together, they poured their hearts and energies into the creation of the JRL Boarding Facility, a haven for dogs seeking comfort, care, and companionship.

At the facility, Nicole’s warm smile and genuine enthusiasm welcome each canine guest with open arms. Her innate ability to connect with dogs on a deep level is evident in the joyous play sessions and tender moments she shares with her furry charges.

Michael’s unwavering support has been instrumental in Nicole’s career transition, from the inception of the boarding facility to its ongoing success. His dedication to Nicole’s happiness and fulfillment underscores the strength of their partnership and the love that binds their family together.
